Introduction to Peshawar airport:
It is known as Bacha Khan Airport named one of great leader of KPK province. It is meeting all international standards almost, although there is no hanger for giant airbus. It is the nearest international airport from Islamabad round about 180 kilometers through motorway which took 1.5 hours hardly. The airport is built in 1927 by British Empire the name Bacha khan is recently changed in 2012. It is present in Peshawar city and 10 minutes distant from center of the city. The city is given name “gateway to the east” because it is way to China, Singapore, America and Europe. The airport gets international status in 1965 when the first flight was operated from Kabul the flight is on Pakistan international airline (PIA).

Importance and Scope of airport:
Strategically it is present in the heart of Peshawar city which is cultural center of KPK. Peshawar is also capital of KPK province as, the international airport increases the worth of capital city due to frequent visits of foreigners in capital. There are silk market, Bara market and china market in Peshawar which are populated only due to Peshawar airport. Peshawar is also known as “city of frontier” and located near Pak-Afghan border at Khyber Pass in northwest due to this there is huge movement across the borders through Peshawar international airport. It is located on crossroad central Asia and South Asia which increases the importance another very famous route known as Silk Road is also near to Peshawar which ultimately increases its importance.

The international airlines operating in Bacha Khan are, Air Blue, Gulf Air, PIA, Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad, Nas Air, Qatar air, Saudi Air, RAK Air, and Shaheen Air. All of them are international and having few specific major destinations which are as follows, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Muscat, Doha, and few other. The cargo is held by Royal airlines towards Karachi and from Karachi.

The foreigners and local travelers who wish to visit northern areas and want some import export of automobile and Chinese items and looking for flights for Pakistan than Peshawar airport is best to land and take advantages of less rush and close to northern areas and Afghan border as well.
